The following excerpts were received October 12, 2014 via email from Denmark:

Dear Sirs,

I am a descendent to Jens Bodewalt Lampe and his father Christian Lampe. I am very much interested in J.B.’s carrier and history. First of all I can tell you, that you are describing a picture of Christian Lampe, Jens Bodewalt Lampe and his son Dell Lampe (1920). The medal you can see on Christians chest is not a medal from the king of Denmark for his music ability. It is a medal from the war in 1864 against Germany and Austria. Christian was fighting on the Danish site. I am in contact with the Lampe family in USA and we help each other with information to our family tree.

I am writing to you in hope, if you could tell anything about J.B.’s work with opera music and church music? I know that he played in several churches in Buffalo and New York, do you have information of which churches? Also if you have more information of his career, not mentioned on your site, I would be very interested.

If you are interested, I have a lot of information about the Lampe family. J.B. and his part of the family were not the only Lampes who worked with music and show business in the States. Christian Lampe was a son of Mathias Bodewalt Lamp, born in Ribe in Denmark. Mathias is my great-great-grandfather.

I am looking forward to be hearing from you and I would be very great full if you can help somehow.

Thanks,

Erik Rodsgaard Jensen
